How to redeem a Razer Gold PIN

These are the steps on Razer's own Razer Gold PIN page.

1. 1Visit gold.razer.com and sign in to your Razer Gold account.
2. 2Click Reload Now and select Razer Gold PIN as your payment method.
3. 3Enter the PIN from your order and click Next. Use Copy on your order page so you paste it exactly.
4. 4Complete the 2-step authentication.
5. 5Start spending your Razer Gold.

If your order shows both a PIN and a Serial, enter the PIN. Razer's help centre names this mix-up as the first thing to check when a reload fails.

Which region to buy

Razer's rule: PIN region equals wallet region

Three statements from Razer fit together:

• A Razer Gold PIN reloads Razer Gold wallets in the same region it was purchased from.
• A wallet's region can't be changed. Razer's help centre says that as of 3 June 2024 it is no longer able to change a wallet's region, and that you should create a new wallet under the correct region if you chose the wrong one or have moved.
• Razer is unable to transfer a Razer Gold wallet between regions.

So a wallet has one region and one currency for its whole life, and only PINs for that region go into it. This is region lock in its plainest form.

Find your wallet's region and currency

Razer's help centre says you can see your wallet's currency by logging in and opening View Account Summary, where the current wallet currency and balance are shown. When a wallet is created, Razer recommends choosing the currency of your region of residence. People who don't live in a listed region are told to select Others (United States Dollars).

Note the first two rows. Both are in US dollars, yet Razer's rule speaks of the wallet's region, not only its currency. Choose by region, and confirm in the product's Terms tab.

How that maps to our PINs

On the product page, read the Redeemable in line and the Terms tab. Some products on the brand page are named Direct Top-Up PIN; Razer says PINs can also be used for Direct Top Up at participating game websites, and the product's terms explain where. We can't swap a PIN for another region after delivery.

Does a Razer Gold PIN expire?

Razer says yes for PINs it sells itself: PINs bought on Razer.com are valid one year from the date of purchase, and expired PINs cannot be reinstated. For a PIN from our store, look for Validity in the product's Terms tab, and reload soon after delivery. Once the value is in your wallet, Razer says the wallet balance does not expire.

What Razer lists

For a "Failed to reload" error on a PIN, Razer's help centre says to check that:

• you entered the PIN code in full, and not the Serial Number;
• you are using the PIN on the correct wallet region; and
• the PIN was not used before.

If it still fails, Razer asks you to contact Razer Gold Customer Support with your wallet's email address, the serial number or PIN, proof of purchase and a full screenshot of the error.

What to do on our side

Work through Razer's three checks with your order page open. Paste the PIN with Copy. Compare the region in the product name with your wallet's region in View Account Summary. Then look at your wallet balance in case an earlier attempt succeeded.

If all three are in order, contact our support with your order number and the screenshot. Do not paste the full PIN into the chat. We review an invalid or undelivered PIN under the Refund Policy when it is reported within 48 hours of delivery.
