What do flight fare rules, baggage and seats mean?
Each fare shows its baggage, change and refund rules before you pay. Seats and extra bags are offered under Extras only where the airline sells them with that fare.
Every fare lists what it includes before you pay: its baggage, whether it can be changed and whether it can be refunded. These rules come from the airline.
01Where to read them
- In the results
- each flight shows Checked bag included, Carry-on only or No bags included, and Changeable or Refundable when the fare allows it.
- In Choose your fare
- each fare lists its change rule, its refund rule and the carry-on and checked bags included.
- On the summary page
- the fare shows Baggage, Changes, Refunds and Fare type.
- After booking
- the order page keeps them under Fare & extras, in Booking conditions.
02What the labels say
- Fully refundable
- the airline allows a refund, with no fee shown.
- Refundable
- , with a fee: the airline allows a refund and charges the fee shown.
- Non-refundable
- the airline does not allow a refund for this fare.
- Free changes
- the airline allows changes, with no fee shown.
- Changes allowed
- or Allowed, with a fee: changes are possible for the fee shown.
- No changes
- or Not allowed: the airline does not allow changes for this fare.
- Not stated by the airline
- or ask the airline: the airline did not publish the rule for this fare. Ask support before you rely on it.
Tip: This is general airline practice, not a KryptoMate rule. Moving to a different flight can cost more than the fee shown, for example when the new flight's fare is higher. Ask support for the cost before you decide.
03Baggage
The fare states the carry-on bags and checked bags it includes.
04Seats and extra bags
On the summary page, Extras has a Seats & baggage tab. If it says seats and extra bags are not sold with this fare, you can still book: the airline assigns your seat at check-in. Extras you add are paid together with the ticket.
Important: Under our Refund Policy, a confirmed booking is not refundable where the airline's fare rules class the ticket as non-refundable. KryptoMate service and booking fees are not refundable unless the error was on our end.
